Ouagadougou: Ledea Bernard Ouedraogo University (ULBO) celebrated the official start of the 2025-2026 school year this Tuesday, October 7, 2025, with the recognition of the “Zero Academic Delay” award, as noted by AIB.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the President of ULBO, Professor Adama Oueda, highlighted during the ceremony that the university is embarking on the new academic year under the theme “Civic engagement and respect for values and symbols.” The university community has committed to this theme to guide their academic endeavors and societal engagement.
Professor Oueda encouraged professors, researchers, staff, and students to increase awareness and actively participate in addressing social issues. He proudly announced that ULBO was awarded the “Zero Academic Delay” recognition for successfully completing all its programs by July 31, 2025.
The representative of the sponsors, Ramata Ilboudo/Diallo, who is also the president of the University of St. Edwige, commended the university’s resilience and efforts. She urged students to become leaders and uphold essential values.
The academic year coincides with the second phase of the JEPPC. The Ministry of Human Rights, in collaboration with ULBO, organized an event for experience sharing with the Etoiles du Faso. Thomas Yampa, Governor of the Yaadga region, congratulated the university community on behalf of the Minister of Justice for their dedication to ensuring a successful academic year.
Governor Yampa emphasized the importance of promoting civic and patriotic values, encouraging the university community to persist in their efforts to inspire national unity and solidarity.
The inaugural day also provided ULBO students the opportunity to engage with the Etoiles du Faso, including industry professionals like Sawadogo Binta, Ramata Ilboudo/Diallo, Sare Inoussa, and Bayala Andre. They shared insights on discipline and entrepreneurship.
The day concluded with an award ceremony for outstanding students from 16 ULBO courses and acknowledgment of CAMES-promoted teachers. The inaugural lecture was delivered by Police Commissioner Paul Nikiema, focusing on the central theme of the academic year.
The event was held under the patronage of Governor Thomas Yampa and attended by several distinguished figures.
