Zoundweogo: The Provincial Directorate of Secondary Education, Vocational and Technical Training (DPESFPT) of Zoundweogo has initiated a training program for 780 post-primary and secondary school teachers, launched at the Delwende Hotel. This training, which runs from October 7 to 17, is focused on enhancing the capabilities of general education teachers in teaching and learning according to the Competency-Based Approach and Integrative Pedagogy (APC/PI).
According to Burkina Information Agency, this initiative also targets technical and vocational training (TVET) teachers, aiming to equip them with the skills necessary to implement the business and modular approaches. The opening ceremony was presided over by Julien OUEDRAOGO, the High Commissioner of Zoundweogo province, who emphasized the objective of these educational days, which are being conducted simultaneously in seventeen regional directorates across Burkina Faso.
OUEDRAOGO stated that the pedagogical days are designed to improve teaching quality, promote active and inclusive citizenship, and optimize resources. He encouraged teachers to grasp the fundamental concepts of APC/PI and to develop strategies for effective assessment of learning in this framework.
Georgette NIKIEMA, the Provincial Director of Secondary Education, Vocational and Technical Training in Zoundweogo, called on participants to engage actively during the sessions. She stressed the importance of exemplary attendance and participation, highlighting that the topics covered are crucial for the efficient operation of schools, including the establishment of school councils and development of multi-purpose schools.
These educational days convene a total of 780 teachers and 24 educational supervisors, distributed across ten disciplines, underscoring the importance of comprehensive involvement to meet educational and organizational goals.
